Hiking NJ: The Sunfish Pond Trail

Sunfish pond is in the Delaware Water Gap recreation area in NJ.

The pond was created by glacial millions of years ago. I It is over 1000 feet high, surrounded by mountain tops, and reachable after a steep climb.

The view at Sunfish pond is rewarding.

Parking: Douglas Parking Lot (127 Old Mine Rd, Columbia, NJ, 07832).

Notes: the parking is on your left, and the  trail is right across the road. You can see the waterfall shortly once you are on the trail. Just go straight up, and you will reach the pond.  There is a hiking loop around the pond, half of which is rocky and challenging and overlaps with the AT trails.
