Hiking PA: Lehigh Gap

Lehigh Gap East Loop via Appalachian Trail

It is a 3-mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Danielsville, PA. Prepare for 3 to 4 hours to enjoy the hike.

The loop starts with the white AT trail -- you will encounter difficult & steep rock climbing, rock scrambling, and breathtaking views . Once you reach the top of the ridge, you will be surrounded by trees & grass, but no other view except the sky. While you hike on the narrow & flat path (still marked as the white blaze), look for the blue trail sign on your left (where there is an AT post), and then  descend along the gentle & longer, and sometimes enchanted,  blue trail.

Parking: Appalachian Trailhead at PA-248   Appalachian Trail, Walnutport, PA 18088

(Turn left onto Appalachian TrailNote that Parking lot is hidden, so just go slow when you get close to the trail head.
