Hiking PA: High Rocks

 

High rocks is a scenic trail along fenced cliffs over Tohickon River. The trail offers hikings, climbing, and kayaking.  A full loop is 3.9 miles, but you can always hike a section and comeback the same path.

Parking: 

High rocks can be reached from two different parking lots.

High Rocks State Park:  150 Tory Rd, Pipersville, PA 18947  it is small but very close to the cliffs. You can directly cross Tory Rd to reach the cliffs. The cliffs are fenced, and some places may be slippery after rain. You can follow the trail to reach the Tohickon River banks, a popular place to rest and wade in the water. 

Ralph Stover State Park6011 State Park Road  it is spacious but a bit far from the cliffs.  

You need to  cross a red bridge to the other side of the river, and then following a road (Stover Park Rd) 

that passes a few houses. Watch for the trail head on your right to enter the trail that leads to

 the high rocks.
