Hiking NJ: Batsto Village

The Batsto village is one of the ghost towns in NJ, which resides in Wharton State Forest in southern New Jersey. The village was built 200 years ago as  a former bog iron and glass making industrial center, but it was later abandoned because of competition from more efficient iron factories.

Inside Wharton State Forest,  there are trails (especially the Batona trails) worth exploring as well.
